William (Bill) Allman Arena

Built in 1924, the Allman Arena is one of the oldest operating arenas in the world. Named in memory of long time building manager, Bill Allman, this arena has a unique heritage that dates back to its very beginnings when the “Stratford Flash”, Howie Morenz played in the “Old Barn”. Many NHL stars have played in the arena including George Hay, Nick Libbet, Craig Hartsburg, Ed Olczyk, Nelson Emerson, Rob Blake, Chris Pronger, Tim Taylor, Dave Shaw, Mike Peluso, Louis DeBrusk, Brian Smolinski, Marc Potvin, Kevin Dahl, Greg De Vries, Garth Snow, Rem Murray, Mike Watt, and Boyd Devereaux. Many more have gone on to successful College, Junior. ‘A’ and Minor League hockey careers.

This City of Stratford arena’s unique hip-style roof provides the perfect venue for potential renters and spectators. Home to the Stratford Warriors Junior. ‘B” hockey club, the venue is host to the Club’s home games every Friday night throughout the winter. Other user groups of the building include Stratford Minor Hockey, Stratford Skating Club, Stratford Ringette and the Stratford Girls Hockey Association.

Located along Lakeside Drive, this facility meets accessibility requirements, and provides ample parking. The Allman Arena also has a Community Hall upstairs suitable for meetings, receptions and special events for up to 250 people.

This is one of three City of Stratford facilities with indoor ice. The others are the Dufferin Arena and the Stratford Rotary Complex (twin pad).
