The newest ice facility in St. Thomas, this two-rink facility was officially opened to a sold-out crowd on Thursday, October 20, 2005. This facility features:
- St. Thomas Minor Hockey Rink – A full NHL size rink, (200′ x 85′), with fixed seating for 2200 fans surrounding the rink and standing room for an additional 300.
- Presstran-Formet Rink – A second NHL size rink with bleacher seating for approximately 100 people.
The Joe Thornton Community Centre has plenty of parking and is a modern, fully accessible, multi-use building. It is one of two indoor ice facilities within the City of St. Thomas. The other can be found at the St. Thomas Elgin Memorial Centre.
