Piney Orchard Ice Arena was formerly the practice facility for the Washington Capitals, and is now home to the new NAHL Maryland Black Bear Junior team as well as Team Maryland’s EHL Junior team.
The Metro Maple Leafs youth hockey club calls Piney orchard its home and former Washington Capital Nelson Burton and his staff develop young players from the Learn To Play level, to in-house league play to travel teams that play in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League (CBHL). The Adult League has been growing each year and allows hockey players to continue to enjoy the sport they have grown to love.
Piney Orchard also boasts an active figure skating program from Learn to Skate to advancement up the levels of Learn to Skate USA, to a Syncho and Production team.
