Since its Grand Opening on October 23, 2010, the NKCC has been a hub of community activity. The NHL regulation-sized ice pad has excellent quality ice for skating events, from late August to mid-March. The rink features:
- Designed and accessible for Sledge Hockey
- 6 change rooms, 2 referee rooms
- Spectator seating and barrier-free viewing
- Large mezzanine and accessible viewing (elevator)
- Private viewing box available
- Home of the North Kawartha Knights, Junior C hockey team
- Plenty of Public Skating
- The arena surface can be rented for many off-season events, such as: large weddings, trade shows, flea markets, sporting events, etc.
