Owned by the city of Anaheim, what’s now known as the Honda Center officially opened as “Anaheim Arena” on June 17, 1993. Later that year, the venue was renamed “Arrowhead Pond” and hosted the first Mighty Ducks of Anaheim of the National Hockey League game.
A new era began in 2005 as Henry and Susan Samueli took ownership of both the team and the venue management company, Anaheim Arena Management, LLC. In 2006, the official name of the arena changed to “Honda Center”, and the team’s name was changed to the Anaheim Ducks.
In addition to professional ice hockey, the Honda Center annually hosts top-name concerts, exciting sporting events and family favorites such as the Harlem Globetrotters and Stars on Ice. In just the past few years, capacity crowds filled Honda Center for world-class acts such as The Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, Maroon 5, Fleetwood Mac, Ariana Grande and more.
The hockey arena has a capacity of 17,732.
