Frank McCool Arena Renovation This facility has been closed since 2016 to accommodate arena renovations, and will remain closed until the fall of 2018 as a result of unexpected delays in construction. We are working with contractors to limit the duration of the closure and ensure that the upgraded facility meets Calgary Recreation’s high expectations of quality. Upgrades to the facility include: Entirely rebuilt and expanded change rooms, as well as new flex change rooms New bleachers Addition of a wheelchair accessible viewing platform Roof replacement New energy-efficient efficient fixtures throughout the facility Needed upgrades to electrical, plumbing, fire suppression and HVAC systems.
