Elliot Lake’s indoor ice rink was built in 1968. At the start of the 2023-24 season, due to structural concerns, it was temporarily closed. Since then, then, figure skaters and hockey players have moved practices and games to indoor rinks in neighbouring towns like Massey and Blind River.
It won the 2024 Kraft Hockeyville. The other 2024 finalists were the Enderby Arena in BC, the Cochrane Arena in Alberta, and the Wolseley Sportsplex in Saskatchewan.
